Body Measurement Tracker
Measurements describe changes in body size. They do not determine how much muscle or fat you gained or lost.
Your measurements stay in this page unless you download them. Refreshing or leaving may clear your entries. Download a backup to continue later.
Your entries
No entries yet. Add a dated entry above, load example data, or import a backup.
Data tools
Files are read in your browser only. Backups hold up to 365 entries and 1 MB.
The Scale Shows One Number. Your Measurements Add Context.
Body weight does not capture every change you may notice in how your clothes fit or how your measurements compare. Keeping consistent records gives you another way to review what is changing.
Turn Your Records Into a Clear Comparison.
01
Compare measurements across dates
Pick any baseline and later entry and see each recorded value side by side.
02
See changes in inches or centimeters
Signed changes and percentages, in US or metric units, calculated the same way for everyone.
03
Download your records and continue later
Save a backup file, export a spreadsheet, and restore your entries next time.
Your Measurements in Three Steps.
1
Record a dated set of measurements.
Enter the date and whichever measurements you took. Blank fields stay blank.
2
Add a later entry using the same method.
Use the same tape, landmarks and conditions so the numbers are comparable.
3
Compare values and download your records.
Review the changes and trend, then download a backup to continue later.
How the Body Measurement Tracker Calculates Change
Absolute change is the later value minus the baseline value. A negative number means the measurement was smaller in the later entry; a positive number means it was larger.
Percentage change is the absolute change divided by the baseline value, multiplied by 100. It shows how large the change is relative to where you started.
Days between entries is the number of calendar days from the baseline date to the comparison date. Changes are only calculated for measurements recorded in both entries — a blank is never treated as zero.
Units. Conversion uses kg = lb ÷ 2.2046226218 and cm = in × 2.54. Each value is stored once at full precision, so switching units never changes your measurements or the percentages. Displayed values are rounded.
The tracker calculates changes the same way for women and men. It does not assign sex-based ideal measurements.
Worked example
- Baseline waist: 32 in
- Later waist: 30.5 in
- Absolute change: 30.5 − 32 = −1.5 in
- Percentage change: −1.5 ÷ 32 × 100 ≈ −4.7%
This describes a circumference change. It does not identify the tissue or cause behind it.
Changes can reflect several factors, including measurement technique, hydration, digestion, body composition, and temporary fluctuations.
Who This Tracker Is For
A good fit
Adult women and men who want a simple personal log of body measurements and weight, and a clear way to compare dates.
What it isn’t
- This is not a body-fat calculator.
- It does not diagnose health conditions.
- It does not establish ideal body proportions.
- It does not replace professional assessment when needed.
Body Measurement Tracker FAQ
What measurements should I track?
- Track the measurements that matter to you. The tracker supports body weight, waist, hips, chest/bust, and left and right upper arms, thighs and calves. Every field is optional, so you can record only what you measure.
How often should I record them?
- There is no required schedule. Using the same method each time and leaving useful spacing between entries matters more than collecting numbers frequently, because small day-to-day fluctuations can hide in frequent measurements.
How do I keep my measurements consistent?
- Use the same tape, landmarks and method each time, keep the tape level and snug without compressing the skin, measure under similar conditions, avoid flexing for one entry and relaxing for another, and record left and right sides separately. The measurement guide in the tracker lists these tips, and you can save a note describing your method.
Why can measurements fluctuate?
- Changes can reflect several factors, including measurement technique, hydration, digestion, body composition, and temporary fluctuations.
Does a smaller waist prove fat loss?
- No. A smaller waist measurement shows that the circumference at your chosen site was smaller. It does not identify which tissue changed or why, and technique, hydration and digestion can all affect the number.
Does a larger arm prove muscle gain?
- No. A larger arm measurement shows that the circumference was larger. It does not show whether muscle, fat, fluid or measuring position accounts for the difference.
Can women and men use the same tracker?
- Yes. The tracker calculates changes the same way for women and men. It does not assign sex-based ideal measurements. The optional Female/Male selection is kept with your records but does not change any calculation, and every measurement field is available to everyone.
What if I leave some measurements blank?
- Blank means not recorded. A blank is never treated as zero. If a measurement is missing from either selected entry, the comparison shows “Not recorded in both entries” for that measurement, and the chart skips that date.
Can I switch between inches and centimeters?
- Yes. Choose US (lb, in) or Metric (kg, cm) at any time. Each value is stored once at full precision, so switching changes only how values are shown — your measurements and percentage changes stay the same.
Are my records saved automatically?
- No. Your measurements stay in this page unless you download them. Refreshing or leaving may clear your entries. Download a backup to continue later. Nothing is sent to a server, and nothing is saved in your browser automatically.
How do I restore a downloaded backup?
- Choose Import Backup and select the .json file you downloaded from this tracker. The file is checked in your browser and a preview shows the number of records and their date range. Your current entries are replaced only after you confirm. If the file is invalid, nothing changes.
